Snowdonia Art Festival

I am very pleased to tell you that I was asked to make an Installation for the Snowdonia Art Festival this weekend in Betws Y Coed. I have now installed my sculpture and completed the installation. Here are a few images taken with my phone, I will add more high res images after the weekend. Hope you can all make it to the festival and find my installation... a hint.... it is in a graveyard near a very wobbly bridge!!!!

Sketches & Drawings

I had a great day at Mostyn gallery today, I not only had a productive paper work day I had the opportunity to join in some of the fun participants are having on the Teacher/Adult workshop in Mostyn's education space. Today we had Wendy Couling, a very very talented artist, in to lead a painting workshop... so I thought it would be rude for me not to have a go! Here are the drawings I finished. Thanks for the inspiring day Wendy!

Penmon

Today I went to Anglesey and had a fantastic day: I saw an amazing exhibition (Ms Eleri Jones' in Oriel Ynys Mon), drove passed a brown bear whom I presume was on his/her way to Ireland, met one of the best and possibly one of the most intelligent dogs in the world, watched a seal steal without shame from very patient fishermen, relaxed in the sun with my lovely friends and created some artwork.

The beach at Penmon was the perfect place to make some work I plan to develop, a series of installations that explore a 'False Perception' (name of the series of artwork) where photographs taken at specific angles will provide a false perception of scale- at first glance. Here is a sneak peak of some of my favourite pics from the day...

Future Workshops

I am hoping to work on some animation workshops that are inspired by the wire sculptures we make and the effect they have on the light. Here is a (very rough and very short!) film to get your appetites going!

Workshops for Criw Celf

I was really chuffed to be asked to lead a Criw Celf workshop in May based on my own art practice. I have worked with 180 year 8 students in a local secondary school to create a group installation in the past and decided to run something similar. This group created their own wire sculptures which we turned into a suspended installation and then we had a go at some shadow photography and OH projector drawing/photography. A big thank you to Criw Celf and all who organised it, here are some of the photos from the day;
